Former Friend & Ex-Aide Rolls on Kwame Kilpatrick Pleads Guilty in Federal Public Corruption Case

Former friend & ex-aide to former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, Derrick Miller, recently plead guilty in the federal public-corruption case being leveled against the already convicted ex-mayor.

According to Miller, Kilpatrick had Miller and others part of the ex-mayor's inner circle shake down contractors in the form of bribes in exchange for city contracts.  Miller admitted to not only delivering cash bribes to Kilpatrick, but also taking bribes himself.

Miller's plea bolsters the government's claims that Kilpatrick and his co-conspirators used the mayor's office to enrich themselves.
Miller faces up to 10 years in prison, but is likely to get a lower sentence because of his cooperation.
