Holt Named New Host of 'Dateline NBC'

In an arena where African American national news anchors are few, long-time veteran news anchor and reporter, Lester Holt, will serve as the new host of "Dateline NBC".

Holt will replace Ann Curry who currently serves as co-anchor with Matt Lauer of the Today Show.

Embarking on 30 years as a career journalist, Holt became a regular with the NBC family since 2000 when he began his career with MSNBC.

Holt will keep his job as co-anchor of the "Weekend Today" show.
